PSL Karachi kings team

The inaugural edition of the Pakistan Super League is set to be played in the United Arab Emirates in February 2016 and the Karachi Kings are set up quite nicely for the tournament.

The side were bought by Salman Iqbal owned Any Media Group for a whopping price of $2.4 million US dollars. They have appointed former South African international coach Mickey Arthur as their manager while former Pakistan leg-spinner Mushtaq Ahmed will serve as his assistant and bowling coach.

The Kings have made some wily recruitments in the PSL player draft. The side will be skippered by Pakistan international batsman Shoaib Malik, who has been in good form over the past year or so. His performances in the Caribbean Premier League were quite encouraging and he has gone from strength to strength since then.

His international teammates Sohail Tanvir, Imad Wasim, Mohammad Amir, Bilawal Bhatti, and Iftikhar Ahmed also find a place in the side. Tanvir is a useful bowler to have who can swing the ball both ways while Amir can prove to be a very important recruit. The left-handed fast bowler has made a steady comeback after serving a 5-year ban from the sport and is in the frame to restore his reputation as one of the finest bowlers in Pakistan.

Karachi have also made some important additions when it comes to foreign players with Shakib Al Hasan their most high-profile player. The former Bangladesh skipper can be said to be a serial winner in T20 league cricket. He has been phenomenal in the Indian Premier League and the Bangladesh Premier League and will be a key player with both bat and ball for the Kings.

They have also acquired Ravi Bopara, James Vince, Lendl Simmons, Mushfiqur Rahim and Tillakaratne Dilshan for the side. Dilshan and Simmons in particular are very good openers with a lot of experience between them while Bopara and Vince have done well individually in the past few months. Rahim of Bangladesh can be a wily operator as well and will add value to the team. Karachi PSL team players list is placed below.
